Who We Are
We are a technical services company with a workshop in Cologne. One half of our work is electrical engineering: schematics, control cabinets, PLC programs, commissioning. The other half is software: applications for production, interfaces between machines and IT, platforms of our own.
The combination is what makes the difference. Whoever programs the controller also knows the database behind it. Whoever builds the interface to the ERP knows how the data is generated in the PLC. That removes the coordination loops between electrician, programmer and IT department.
Our customers are machine and plant builders, manufacturing companies and software businesses in Germany, Europe, the USA and China.
How We Work
Every project runs in four steps. Not because it has to follow a template, but because surprises at the plant cost more than an hour of preparation.

AnalysisWe look at the plant, the existing schematics, programs and interfaces, and clarify what is to be achieved. - 2
Concept & ArchitectureWe define what gets replaced, what gets extended and what stays as it is, and agree the scope with you. - 3
ImplementationControl cabinet construction, PLC programming and software development in our workshop, with as little interference with ongoing production as possible. - 4
Testing & CommissioningTested at the desk, then installation, commissioning and training at the plant. Documentation is delivered matching the as-built state.

Technical Leadership
We run BWS IT GmbH as a team of two, as founders and owners. Both of us are computer scientists (B.Sc.), one of us also a certified master electrician (Elektrotechnikermeister). This combination is why we can offer electrical engineering and software from a single source. We have been developing industrial software, control systems and software platforms for industry and e-commerce for many years and work hands-on in every project: on the schematic, in the PLC program and in the source code.
